Wow, you guys… it’s 2013. I cannot believe how quickly time has begun to fly by. 2012 offered so much to be thankful for – family, friends, the best dog in the world, a job I love, and so many fun memories to cherish in years to come. We saw two sets of our best friends get engaged, we traveled all over the country for work and for pleasure, and we got engaged ourselves.
Ending the year with our families was the most special way to celebrate all of these wonderful things. Christmas in Blowing Rock, NC with Jeff’s family was absolutely priceless to me, and was experienced in a whole new way as a future part of the family. It snowed, we cooked every night and there was plenty of wine. I doubt anyone has enjoyed having 16 people in one house as much as we did.
Going to Beaufort, SC to see my parents for New Year’s celebrations was icing on the 2012 cake. Though they haven’t been living there long, “home” has a way of settling itself around those you love. Relaxing, reading, cooking and playing games were the only to-dos on our list, and I will never forget how hard we all laughed at one particularly challenging Humdinger in Cranium.
Here is a selection of photos from our trip to Beaufort. I hope that each of you was able to spend time with your families and friends this holiday season. I also hope you’ve spent some time reflecting on 2012 and the year’s blessings. Pay attention in 2013 and make the most of it, as it will be gone before we know it!
